Re: "KISS" Strategy - Says SELL!
This is a beautiful chart, and I'm inclined to agree that the market is overvalued and we are in for another big drop, but so many of the charts I've been seeing only include December as the big drop predicted by their method. It just makes me wary when there aren't more examples. I still appreciat...

"KISS" Strategy - Says SELL!
This simple chart uses a 60 day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) to trigger Buy and Sell signals in the S-Fund. The S-Fund closed on May 14, 2018 at $50.37 and closed on May 13, 2019 at $50.55 for a whopping 12 month return of merely 0.35%. The "KISS" strategy returned a stellar 11.4%, not...

Re: Just taking a poll about the shutdown.
In my nearly 38 years of federal service I've been though 3 government shutdowns driven by congress and 1 agency directed furlough. Congress authorized back-pay for everyone, the ones that worked and the ones sent home in all 3 cases. DOD screwed me on their furlough because it was driven by DOD pol...

Re: Just taking a poll about the shutdown.
The data presented by the poll is a bit skewed. How members are effected by the "partial government shutdown" should not be commingled with their opinion regarding the shutdown. Of the 314 people weighing in on the "shutdown for funding" question 82% support the shutdown for fund...
Re: BRS
If you are planning to be a "lifer" and have a choice, stick with the old plan. The 1st goal of BRS was to save tax dollars. On the other hand, if you are not planning on making the military a career, go with BRS.

Re: What would you do.....
50% G-Fund and 50% C-Fund would have produced average annual returns of 6% over the past 14 years. F-Fund is questionable in a rising interest rate environment.

Re: Heritage Foundation Recommendations
Well folks the race to the bottom is back on. I would choose to keep the FERS option even if I had to pay more for it. My boss just retired after 37 years in Sept 2016. Someone had talked her into converting from CSRS to FERS; and she was angry she had switched. Anytime they propose a change to ret...

Re: TSP Charts Website
Thanks for sharing. That is a very telling chart that should be studied closely by all TSP investors. As you move your mouse across the chart horizontally you well see each data point "light up". Move your mouse slowly from the far left to far right and watch the C, S, and I funds move up ...

Re: newbie here and confused - tsp allocations
Be patient. Stay conservative at least for the short term. Regardless of my personal analysis and opinion I'm not finding many folks on this sight all out Bullish. A few are doing some short term trades but most seem to be in a watch and see mode. There is nothing wrong with scaling in over time. If...

Re: What Next?
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Season with family and friends. This report from my paid source: -------------------------- Last week it appeared as if the S&P 500 was about to complete the initial 5-wave sequence (which would have been followed by a corrective decline). However, there ...

What Next?
Most folks realize that the current market is stretched by many measures so I thought I'd add a slightly different perspective. Based on Elliott Wave Theory we may be approaching an end of Minor Wave (V) which could also mark the end of Intermediate Wave (5) which is the next larger degree of trend ...

GS grades are driven by the series. While GS 1, 2, 8, and 10 are rare, they do exist.

Re: Update: Using Multivariate Analysis on the TSP Funds
Can you provide the movement dates in and out of each fund that support the graph? On the surface it looks similar to relative strength charts. Which momentum filter are you using? Looks like the great recession crash only suffered a 25% drop and recovered fairly quickly. Adding the G-Fund to the mi...
