Live Charts Acting Weird

Post by Aitrus »

All,

Some of you may have noticed today and yesterday after hours that the Live Charts is waaaay off (and some of you have reached out to let us know - thank you for doing so because it lets us know that it's not due to any one Moderator's / Admin's personal PC that's the issue). The Live Charts being all wonky is not an issue caused by TSPCenter.

If you go to stockcharts.com and Yahoo Finance, you'll see that the DWCPF charts at both locations are likewise affected. I think that there's something amiss in whatever reporting software is tracking the mid / small caps that multiple sources pull from.

We're double checking things behind the scenes to make sure that everything is good to go on our end, but we can't do anything about the sources we're pulling our data from being wrong.

Dang, I was hoping that 700% gain in one day was legit!

Hi, can you suggest a different proxy ticker for the S fund instead of using DWCPF. That 700% pump a couple of weeks ago has ruined my charts. I see a lot of different suggestions online for proxies but was wondering if this site has one that they prefer instead of the DWPCF for the S fund thanks!

Ps this is what I found online… Apparently the VXF is a good proxy for the S fund.

“For a direct and comprehensive proxy that captures the full mix of mid- and small-cap stocks in the S fund's index, VXF is the most accurate choice

Thanks for the suggestion, dseery. I know Archibald has been looking into various bits and pieces of the background workings of the site, and I'm sure he'll consider this idea as a possible proxy.
