privatize accounts
I know no one on this site and believe everyone can stay anonymous if they desire. I use individual accounts to confirm my moves. I find it frustrating to go to an individual's account on "pending IFT" and find it "PRIVATE". I don't know them, and they prevent me from learning by NOT sharing their information.
Re: privatize accounts
I hear what you're saying, BG. However, most people have reasons for privatizing their accounts. I know some use their accounts to experiment and/or test theories they have about how they want to invest their personal money, and they may not be comfortable with others knowing about the things they're testing out.
Others feel that how they invest their money is a personal matter that no one else has a right to know about.
As for me, I first privatized my account - and then later abandoned it completely by leaving it public but never making moves - because I learned that people began following me blindly instead of trying to learn about why I made my moves. I felt uncomfortable with a situation that was essentially me making investment decisions and moves for other people, and them having no idea what they were doing or why. I can't force someone to learn, but I can choose to not encourage intentional ignorance on a topic.

Re: privatize accounts
Thanks for replying. Yes, just leaving an account and not moving it is much more interesting than privatizing it. Thank you for that example. It is a personal choice. If someone follows you and you lose, then it is up to them to decide if they can handle losing and winning. If they can't handle a loss, then they can choose others. Did anyone ever complain to you about your personal moves? My moves do mimic those of others with similar strategies. I wish the account names that are privatized were in a different color.
