The War is Over!

Post by VAmanBulls »

Everyone knows the Iran war is over. Well, except for Iran. And as we are told this, we have large troop deployments to the region. US Marines, too. As a former Marine, I mean if you really want to get the job done, right? We have not forgotten about the Beirut barracks, Iran. I digress, let's look under the hood. Have we bottomed, ready to move back in? Not so fast. Under the hood does not look good in my view. Oil is still high and could pop up any minute. A lot of damage done already here. What do you expect future inflation numbers are going to look like? What reaction will the markets have? Corn futures, rising. Fertilizer futures, up. 10 year yield, still elevated. Microsoft, Tesla, Google continue to breakdown. Private equity breaking down where there is a hold on liquidating your funds. Why? The 50 week S&P moving average line is important. Will we get a rally here? This weekend is big. Do we shake hands with Iran and call it a day? Or does this only end with force, boots on the ground (to some degree)? That will be a short term, at least, shock to oil - inflation, and the markets will reprice. I hope I'm wrong. But I'm sitting tight on the sidelines for now.

Yeah, my expectation is boots on the ground later this year. I'm not sure if just yet...but people lie and change their minds every few hours. We'll see, but I think we're only at the beginning of this whole thing, sadly.

Agree. Maybe if we're told who we're negotiating with and what the "big surprise" is, the market will rally for a day. I'm hoping on a cat bounce and then I'm back out on the sidelines for now!

I spent most of my 20's fighting in the Middle East, I can assure you this is nothing more than a PR stunt/ effort to save face. Can't leave the enemy just wounded . . .
