Thanks. Now, if I could just get 1099's from TSP & Social Security, I could finish up my tax returns early this year.

OPM website says my 2024 has been uploaded. However, it's 2023. Guess I will have to keep checking.

Jim -as i understand you're a recent retiree in a high-tax state; on the subject of filing taxes, how has your total tax rate (fed+state) differed between pre-retirement and post-retirement?

You may need to select "tax year" in dropdown on right hand side (between the big yellow block & the form)

Social Security is not taxed here in Maryland. I also should qualify for the $39500 standard maximum exclusion to cover most of my civilian government pension & TSP withdraws, plus $20000 toward my military pension. Since they will also give me $1000 credit for being over 65, I probably won't owe hardly anything to MD this year. Now if you ask me about property taxes, that's a different story. Our property taxes have more than doubled over the past 10 years, but so has our property value. Our closest neighbor recently sold their place for over $600k, and I'm quite certain that our place is worth as much or more than theirs, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.
